A Pitch Worth Opening

  • It answers a specific question a manufacturer is trying to resolve.
  • It uses original experience, primary sources, or clearly explained data.
  • It tells readers what the evidence proves, what it does not prove, and what to do next.

Choose the Right Evidence Desk

We publish across six evidence desks. Choose the desk that best matches the manufacturer’s primary question; tell us separately which manufacturing sector or application your evidence comes from.

  • Manufacturer Website & RFQ Conversion: buyer paths, capability proof, quote friction, and qualified enquiries.
  • Manufacturing SEO & AI Search Visibility: how manufacturers are found, evaluated, cited, and shortlisted.
  • Manufacturing Software: ERP, MES, PLM, QMS, CMMS, CRM, CPQ, selection, implementation, and operational fit.
  • Industrial Automation & Factory AI: robotics, machine vision, predictive systems, industrial data, and practical deployment.
  • Manufacturing Operations & Quality: planning, maintenance, lean practice, process control, compliance, and quality decisions.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics: sourcing, inventory, traceability, warehousing, supplier risk, and material flow.

PCB & Electronics is an Industry, not an evidence desk. OT-security pitches are considered only when they answer a clear manufacturing decision and fit the relevant desk and sector. Say cross-sector only when the useful evidence genuinely applies across industries.

Editorial Requirements

  • Scope: Follow the agreed brief. Useful depth and verifiable evidence matter more than a fixed word count.
  • Accuracy: Use primary sources for factual claims, statistics, prices, and product capabilities.
  • Disclosure: State any employment, vendor, client, affiliate, or financial relationship relevant to the subject.
  • Limits: Explain the boundaries of your evidence and avoid claims it cannot support.
  • Accountability: AI-assisted drafts still require your expertise, verification, and responsibility for every claim.

How to Pitch

  1. A working headline and the manufacturer question it answers.
  2. Which evidence desk it fits and which manufacturing sector or application the evidence comes from.
  3. Why you are qualified to write it.
  4. A proposed outline and the evidence or examples you will use.
  5. Relevant writing samples, if available, and any commercial relationship or conflict we should know about.

We review pitches selectively. If an idea fits current editorial plans, we will reply with next steps. We cannot guarantee a response time or reply to every submission. Acceptance of a pitch does not guarantee publication.

Links, Byline, and Distribution

  • Byline: Published contributions may include your name, title, and a short bio.
  • Professional link: We may include a relevant profile or organisation link when it helps readers verify your role. We do not promise a particular link attribute.
  • Evidence links: Include the primary sources needed to verify your claims. Other links remain only when they add distinct reader value; promotional or self-serving links are removed. There is no link quota.
  • Distribution: We may share a published article through Factory Investigator channels, but do not guarantee promotion, traffic, rankings, or permanent placement.

What We Do Not Accept

  • Generic agency outreach, mass-produced guest posts, or articles written mainly to place a link.
  • Press releases, undisclosed sponsored content, or vendor copy presented as independent analysis.
  • Previously published or lightly rewritten articles.
  • Claims that cannot be sourced or reasonably verified.

Editing and Publication

Accepted submissions are edited for accuracy, clarity, structure, and Factory Investigator’s editorial standards. We may request sources, disclosures, revisions, or additional evidence before publishing.
