About
About Factory Investigator
Factory Investigator is an independent publication for the people who run, improve and buy for manufacturing businesses. We investigate how manufacturers get found, win qualified work, choose technology and improve operations—so you can see the evidence before you make a decision.

Why It Exists
Manufacturing decisions deserve better evidence.
When you are comparing software, checking a supplier, improving a website or looking for the cause of a factory problem, the useful details are often buried beneath sales language. Factory Investigator brings the question, sources, assumptions and limitations into view.
You get research designed to help you verify a claim, compare an option and decide what to do next—not another list written to sell the winner.
Who I Am
I’m Mahesh Sirvi, founder and editor of Factory Investigator. I am based in India and serve manufacturers worldwide.
My father owned and operated a small manufacturing plant. Growing up around production, distribution, logistics, suppliers and the constant work of winning and keeping customers gave me an enduring respect for the people behind the factory gate. That experience informs the questions we ask; published evidence still has to carry every conclusion.
My work is in B2B publishing, websites and digital buyer journeys—not plant engineering. I founded IVRIStech, a separate B2B marketing publication, and I run the paid implementation work behind any website engagement. Factory Investigator brings that digital experience to manufacturing while keeping the evidence and limitations visible.
The Factory Investigator
The figure in the fedora is the visual thread running through the site. Each appearance signals the same promise: follow the evidence, explain the method and help you reach a clearer decision. Every article still carries a real human byline.

Based in India. Built for manufacturers worldwide.
Factory Investigator is operated from India and built for manufacturers in the US, UK, Australia, the EU and elsewhere. Location is stated plainly; sources, methods and corrections are public so you can judge the work itself.
Trust should come from what you can inspect: named authors, linked sources, disclosed limitations, dated updates and corrections when evidence changes. That is the standard we aim to earn on every page.
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t take payment for favorable software reviews. A vendor cannot buy a better score, a higher ranking, or a kinder conclusion. Naming a vendor in an investigation earns us nothing from that vendor.
- We don’t publish fully AI-generated content. AI helps with research and drafts; a human verifies and edits everything, and I put my name on it. (The full editorial policy spells this out.)
- We don’t run paid ads to this publication. Traffic is earned through the work, not bought.
- We don’t publish sponsored content that bypasses our editorial standards. Sponsored work is labeled as sponsored and held to the same accuracy bar as everything else.
Related Publication and Paid Work
Factory Investigator remains editorially independent. Paid implementation work — website, search, content, RFQ and measurement — is a commercial service, quoted and scoped separately in writing. The research published here is not for sale. IVRIStech is a separate B2B marketing publication. We state the relationship so you can distinguish research from a commercial service before you choose what to do next.
